Bioactive Metabolite Survey of Actinobacteria Showing
Plant Growth Promoting Traits to Develop Novel Biofertilizers
Metabolites.
13(3)
This article describes a study in which three actinobacterial strains were characterized
for their plant growth promoting (PGP) traits and bioactive metabolites.
The study found that the strains produced a rich arsenal of bioactive molecules,
including antibiotics and siderophores, with Streptomyces violaceoruber being the most
prolific strain, and improved the germination index and growth of tomato seedlings,
suggesting their potential as eco-friendly alternatives in sustainable agriculture.

HY5 functions as a systemic signal by integrating
BRC1-dependent hormone signaling in tomato bud outgrowth
Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A.
120(16):e2301879120.
The article describes how light regulates bud outgrowth in tomato through HY5 and
brassinosteroid (BR)-dependent pathways. HY5 functions as a systemic signal by directly
suppressing BRC1 transcript and activating the transcript of BR biosynthesis genes within
the lateral buds, promoting bud outgrowth, while BRC1 inhibits the accumulation of
cytokinin and gibberellin by inhibiting CK synthesis gene LOG4 transcript and increasing CK
and GA degradation gene transcript levels, leading to bud outgrowth arrest.

Tiotropium Bromide Improves Neutrophilic Asthma by Recovering Histone Deacetylase 2 Activity
J Korean Med Sci.
38(12):e91.
The article presents a study that suggests tiotropium bromide (TIO) improves neutrophilic
asthma by recovering histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2) activity, which is key for controlling
inflammatory cytokines, and is usually downregulated in neutrophilic asthma. The study shows that
TIO modulates inflammation by recovering HDAC2 activity from the acetylcholine-stimulated inflammation
cascade in neutrophilic asthma, which may be associated with the PLCγ-1-IP3-IP3R mediated intracellular
calcium ion pathway.
