The study explored how alterations in histone methylation states are associated with hsp/hsc/trx in response to heat stress in two subspecies of honeybees, Apis mellifera jemenetica and Apis mellifera carnica. The results suggest that histone post-translational methylation may be an epigenetic mechanism of gene regulation in response to heat stress.

McFadden T et. al. (April 2023). Controlling hypothalamic DNA methylation at the Pomc promoter does not regulate weight gain during the development of obesity PLoS One. 18(4):e0284286.
This study tested the hypothesis that epigenetic-mediated repression of the satiety gene Pomc in the hypothalamus contributes to the development of obesity. However, using the CRISPR-dCas9-TET1 and dCas9-DNMT3a systems, the authors found that controlling hypothalamic Pomc DNA methylation did not regulate weight gain during the development of obesity in male rats.
