8-Hydroxyguanosine (8-OHG) Polyclonal Antibody

Description
Epigentek's 8-hydroxyguanosine antibody recognizes 8-hydroxyguanosine (8-OHG), a modified base which occurs in DNA as a result of oxidative stress. 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) has become a sensitive marker of oxidative damage in cellular DNA and has been reported to be excreted in the urine. Levels of 8-OHdG have been shown to increase on exposure to ionizing radiation and tobacco smoke. Epigentek's 8-hydroxyguanosine polyclonal antibody cross reacts completely with 8-OHdG, and does not cross react with other naturally occurring nucleotides.

Storage
Store at +4°C or at -20°C if preferred. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the protein.

Handling Recommendations
Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. For maximum recovery of the products, centrifuge the vial prior to opening the cap.
