We recommend using an alternative version: p300 Polyclonal Antibody.
BackgroundEP300 (E1A binding protein p300) is nuclear phosphoprotein which is conserved among a variety of mammalian species. It can act like a histone acetyltransferase to regulate transcription through chromatin remodeling and is important for cell proliferation and differentiation. EP300 binds specifically to phosphorylated CREB protein to mediate cAMP-gene regulation. It has also shown to function as a co-activator of HIF1A (hypoxia-inducible factor 1 alpha), and thereby is capable of stimulating hypoxia-induced genes such as VEGF. Abnormalities in this gene have been associated with Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome and epithelial cancer.
