Measuring m6A Methylase Activity with EpigenTek's Assay Kit

EpigenTek’s Epigenase m6A Methylase Activity/Inhibition Assay Kit is designed for measuring the activity/inhibition of total m6A methylases (methyltransferases) using nuclear extracts or purified m6A methylases like METTL3/METTL14 from a broad range of species such as mammalian, plant, fungal, and bacterial, in a variety of forms including, but not limited to, cultured cells and fresh and frozen tissues.

With a straightforward protocol and accurate signal detection, EpigenTek's Epigenase m6A Methylase Activity/Inhibition Assay Kit is a valuable tool for researchers looking to investigate m6A methyltransferase levels, especially in regard to understanding how diseases like cancer progress over time. In a study published in the Journal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research, researchers examined m6A and m6A methyltransferase complex (METTL3) in both colorectal cancer (CRC) tissue and precancerous lesions to assess survival rates for patients. Using the Epigenase m6A Methylase Activity/Inhibition Assay Kit ( Cat.#P-9019) to assess methylase activity from the samples' nuclear extracts (Cat. #OP-0002), the team found significantly higher methylase activity in CRC compared to adenoma, with similar results observed for METTL3.
