Fang Z et. al. (April 2023). Integrated analysis based on vesicle trafficking-related genes identifying CNIH4 as a novel therapeutic target for glioma. Cancer Med.
The study identified Cornichon family AMPA receptor auxiliary protein 4 (CNIH4) as a potential therapeutic target for glioma by analyzing differentially expressed vesicle trafficking-related genes. CNIH4 was found to be overexpressed in malignant glioma variants and positively correlated with adverse clinicopathological characteristics, stem cell processes, and lower chemotherapy sensitivity.

Wang X et. al. (April 2023). Experimental DNA Demethylation Reduces Expression Plasticity and Thermal Tolerance in Pacific Oysters. Mar Biotechnol (NY).
This study investigates the effect of DNA methylation on gene expression and thermal stress adaptation in Pacific oysters. Results show that DNA demethylation decreases methylation plasticity and reduces thermal tolerance, suggesting that DNA methylation plays a crucial role in stress adaptation in marine invertebrates.

Chen X et. al. (April 2023). KIAA1429-mediated m6A modification of CHST11 promotes progression of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma by regulating Hippo-YAP pathway. Cell Mol Biol Lett. 28(1):32.
The article investigates the role of KIAA1429-mediated m6A modification in the progression of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). It suggests that KIAA1429 regulates Hippo-YAP pathway by modifying CHST11 and decreasing its stability and expression, which can be a potential therapeutic target.

Shiraishi C et. al. (April 2023). RPL3L-containing ribosomes determine translation elongation dynamics required for cardiac function. Nat Commun. 14(1):2131.
The article shows that the presence of a specific ribosomal protein, RPL3L, in cardiac muscle influences translation elongation dynamics, and its deficiency leads to impaired cardiac contractility. The loss of RPL3L-containing ribosomes alters translation elongation dynamics for the entire transcriptome, but its effects are most pronounced for transcripts related to cardiac muscle contraction and dilated cardiomyopathy.

Pierce CA et. al. (April 2023). HSV-2 triggers upregulation of MALAT1 in CD4+ T cells and promotes HIV latency reversal. J Clin Invest.
The study shows that HSV-2 infection induces changes in CD4+ T cells that promote HIV-1 reactivation and replication by upregulating MALAT1, a transcript that releases epigenetic silencing, and decreasing expression of HIV-1 restriction factors. This finding provides a potential therapeutic target for treating HIV-1 latency in individuals co-infected with HSV-2.

Sharma H et. al. (April 2023). A Scalable High-Throughput Isoelectric Fractionation Platform for Extracellular Nanocarriers: Comprehensive and Bias-Free Isolation of Ribonucleoproteins from Plasma, Urine, and Saliva. ACS Nano.
The article describes a new technique for isolating extracellular nanocarriers based on their isoelectric points, which enables high-throughput and high-yield separation without the use of probes or ampholytes. The technique was tested on various biofluids, resulting in comprehensive and bias-free isolation of ribonucleoproteins with high purity and yield, outperforming existing methods. Zhao Y et. al. (April 2023). METTL16, an evolutionarily conserved m6A methyltransferase member, inhibits the antiviral immune response of miiuy croaker (Miichthys miiuy). Dev Comp Immunol. :104713.
The study identified METTL16, an m6A RNA methylation transferase, in miiuy croaker and found that it inhibits the antiviral immune response by suppressing the expression of immune response genes. The study suggests that further research on mmiMETTL16 could contribute to understanding the role of METTL16 in the teleost immune system.
