Kiran GS et. al. (August 2023). Unravelling blood-based epigenetic mechanisms: the impact of hsa-miR-146a and histone H3 acetylation in lead-induced inflammation among occupational workers Int Arch Occup Environ Health.
In this study, researchers examined the influence of lead (Pb) exposure on epigenetic mechanisms in occupational workers, specifically investigating the roles of hsa-miR-146a and histone H3 acetylation in the context of Pb-induced inflammation. They observed that Pb exposure was associated with heightened histone H3 acetylation, increased serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels, and upregulated expression of hsa-miR-146a, suggesting a potential interplay between Pb-triggered oxidative stress, modifications in histone structures, and the activation of inflammatory responses.

Sharma S et. al. (August 2023). Discovery of a highly potent, selective, orally bioavailable inhibitor of KAT6A/B histone acetyltransferases with efficacy against KAT6A-high ER+ breast cancer Cell Chem Biol.
In this article, researchers discovered a potent and selective inhibitor, CTx-648 (PF-9363), that effectively targets the histone lysine acetyltransferases KAT6A and KAT6B, which play an oncogenic role in various cancers, including KAT6A-overexpressing breast cancer. This orally bioavailable inhibitor demonstrated anti-tumor activity by inhibiting histone H3K23 acetylation, leading to downregulation of key genes involved in estrogen signaling, cell cycle, Myc, and stem cell pathways, ultimately showing promising potential for treating ER-positive breast cancer, even in cases resistant to traditional endocrine therapy.

Attia SM et. al. (August 2023). Rituximab alleviates increased disomic sperm in DBA/1J mouse models of rheumatoid arthritis via restoration of redox imbalance  J Biochem Mol Toxicol. :e23496.
This study investigates the impact of rituximab treatment on sperm abnormalities and redox balance in arthritic mouse models. The study found that rituximab treatment did not induce aneuploidy in sperm, but rather reduced the elevated levels of disomic sperm caused by arthritis. The treatment also restored markers of oxidative stress and alleviated arthritis severity, suggesting that rituximab could mitigate the adverse reproductive effects of arthritis.

Shi Z et. al. (August 2023). SETD1A-mediated H3K4me3 methylation upregulates lncRNA HOXC-AS3 and the binding of HOXC-AS3 to EP300 and increases EP300 stability to suppress the ferroptosis of NSCLC cells Thorac Cancer.
The article investigates the role of histone methyltransferase SETD1A in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) development. The study reveals that SETD1A promotes the expression of long noncoding RNA HOXC-AS3 and its interaction with EP300, leading to increased EP300 stability, which ultimately suppresses ferroptosis in NSCLC cells. The findings suggest potential targets for NSCLC treatment.

The study explores the role of autophagy in plant immunity against root-knot nematodes (RKNs). The study demonstrates that RKN infection induces autophagy in tomato plants, and autophagy plays a role in nematode resistance by regulating the degradation of JASMONATE-ASSOCIATED MYC2-LIKE proteins and facilitating the transcriptional activation of defense-related genes through ERF1-mediated pathways.

Shan TD et. al. (August 2023).  Mettl14-mediated m6 A modification regulates the abnormal differentiation of small intestinal epithelial stem cells in diabetic state J Cell Physiol.
In this study, researchers investigated the role of the m6A modification enzyme Mettl14 in diabetic enteropathy (DE). The research found that Mettl14 overexpression was associated with abnormal differentiation of intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) in diabetic mice, with Mettl14 influencing IESCs identity and organoid formation via modulation of Fzd2 mRNA stability through m6A modification, highlighting Mettl14's essential role in IESC differentiation under diabetic conditions.

Chen YH et. al. (August 2023). RNA N6- methyladenosine of DHAPAT and PAP involves in regulation of diapause of Bombyx mori via the lipid metabolism pathway Bull Entomol Res. :1-11.
The study investigates the molecular mechanism linking RNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modifications to the diapause regulation in the silkworm Bombyx mori. The research focused on the differential m6A methylation levels of genes DHAPAT and PAP in the lipid metabolism pathway between diapause and non-diapause egg-producing strains, revealing that m6A-modified DHAPAT and PAP are regulated by YTHDF3, and that RNA m6A modification plays a role in regulating diapause traits by influencing lipid metabolism signaling pathways in insects.
