This study shows that WTAP, which is highly expressed in colorectal cancer (CRC), promotes cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion while inhibiting apoptosis. WTAP mediates m6A modifications on NLRP3, repressing the NLRP3/Caspase-1/GSDMD pathway involved in pyroptosis, a type of inflammatory cell death. By suppressing this pathway, WTAP contributes to CRC progression, highlighting it as a potential therapeutic target for managing CRC.
